The small round diamonds have been treated and enhanced to bring out their intense, vibrant blue color. They have a fair cut and a total weight of 3/8 carat. Natural blue diamonds, such as the famous Hope diamond, are extremely rare, but special methods of irradiating and heat treating the stones have allowed the production of intensely colored diamonds in a variety of shades, including blue.
